The High-Level Steering Committee, the apex body for global coordination and monitoring of SDG 4, has made a global call to action at the Transforming Education Pre-Summit Meeting in Paris. They are urging that education be pushed to the top of the agenda as we are well off track in reaching the goals that have been set. It is vital that education is seen as an investment rather than a cost and they say: ‘Transforming education is the best investment a country can make for its future. Sustained, equitable and scaled-up funding must be at the center of this renewed investment.’ The period leading up the the Summit in September is therefore crucial and it is important that all stakeholders engage in supporting this call.
